Beef Picadillo with Rice
Makes 1 serving

INGREDIENTS
150 g Beef mince, 5% fat (Weighed raw. Standard 20% mince is nearly twice the calories at the same weight.)
140 g Cooked white rice (Cooked weight. About 50 g of dry rice becomes 130 g cooked.)
200 g Chopped tomatoes, tinned
80 g Onion
80 g Green pepper
6 olives, about 24 g Olives, pitted
15 g Raisins (Odd on paper. They dissolve into the sauce and it is not the same without them.)
5 g Olive oil
2 cloves, about 6 g Garlic
1 tsp Ground cumin
A pinch Ground cinnamon
To taste Salt

METHOD
1. Soften the chopped onion and pepper in the oil for eight minutes. Add the mince and fry hard until browned.
2. Stir in the garlic, cumin and cinnamon for a minute, then the tomatoes, halved olives and raisins.
3. Simmer uncovered for fifteen minutes until thick and glossy. Season and serve over the rice.

Check ingredient packaging for allergen information.

RECIPE NOTES
Raisins and olives together are the whole point of the dish: sweet and salty in the same forkful. Fifteen grams of raisins is 45 kcal.
Traditional versions add diced potato to the pan. Swap 100 g of the rice for 150 g of potato and the calories are roughly the same.
