Peanut Butter Whey Porridge with Sliced Banana
Makes 1 serving

INGREDIENTS
55 g Rolled oats (Dry weight.)
About 300 ml Water
1 medium, about 100 g Banana (Peeled weight. A medium banana is about 100 g without the skin.)
1 tbsp (15 g) Peanut butter (The kind that is peanuts and salt. Sweetened spreads carry more carbohydrate.)
1 scoop, about 30 g Whey protein isolate (Values for an unflavoured or lightly flavoured isolate. A concentrate or a blend carries more fat and carbohydrate at the same scoop.)
A pinch Ground cinnamon
A pinch Salt

METHOD
1. Simmer the oats in the water with the salt for four minutes, stirring now and then.
2. Mash half the banana with a fork and stir it in for the last minute, so it cooks into the oats.
3. Off the heat, stir in the whey and the peanut butter until smooth. Add a splash of water if it is too stiff to stir.
4. Slice the other half of the banana over the top and dust with cinnamon.

Contains gluten cereals, milk and peanuts.
Oats count as a gluten cereal under UK labelling and ordinary oats are milled alongside wheat. Certified gluten-free oats are a separate ingredient here.
Most whey powders contain soya lecithin, which counts as soya. Check the tub.

RECIPE NOTES
Half the banana mashed in is what sweetens the bowl, so nothing else is added. All of it sliced on top instead and the porridge underneath eats a lot plainer.
A level tablespoon of peanut butter is 15 g. Heaped is nearer 25 g and another 60 kcal.
