- Cantaloupe melon200 g
Flesh only.
- Cucumber80 g
- Greek yogurt, 0% fat150 g
- Whey protein isolateHalf a scoop (15 g)
Values for an unflavoured or lightly flavoured isolate. A concentrate or a blend carries more fat and carbohydrate at the same scoop.
- Fresh mintA small handful of leaves
- Lime juiceJuice of half a lime
- IceA handful
Method
Cut the melon into chunks and the cucumber into rounds, skin on.
Blend the yogurt and whey with the lime first for ten seconds.
Add the melon, cucumber, mint and ice and blend for thirty seconds until it is smooth and frothy. Drink straight away; it separates within a few minutes.
Worth knowing
- Melon and cucumber are mostly water, so 280 g of them is 72 kcal. The yogurt and the half-scoop of whey are what make it a breakfast rather than a drink.
- A ripe cantaloupe smells of melon at the stalk end. One that smells of nothing tastes of nothing blended.
