Method

  1. Cut the paneer into 2 cm cubes and the onion into wedges. Mix the yogurt, curry paste and lemon in a bowl and turn the paneer and onion through it. Leave for fifteen minutes.

  2. Heat the grill to high and spray a foil-lined tray. Spread the pieces out on it, or thread them onto a skewer.

  3. Grill for about eight minutes, turning halfway, until the marinade has charred spots and the onion has softened. Scatter the coriander over.

Worth knowing

  • Paneer does not melt, so it can go under a hot grill and come out with a charred crust and a soft middle.
  • Jarred curry paste is oil-based and around 250 kcal per 100 g. The half tablespoon here is enough to coat everything.
