Ingredients
- Gluten-free oats35 g
Dry weight. Certified, which is the only thing that separates them from ordinary oats in the numbers.
- Unsweetened almond milk200 ml
- Egg white2 whites, about 66 g
Whisked in during the last minute. They thicken the oats and you cannot taste them.
- Raspberries80 g
- Almond butter2 tsp (10 g)
- SaltA pinch
Method
Simmer the oats in the almond milk with the salt for four minutes.
Turn the heat right down, pour in the egg whites slowly while stirring fast, and keep stirring for a minute until the porridge looks glossy and has thickened.
Spoon into a bowl, scatter the raspberries over and drizzle the almond butter from a warmed spoon.
Worth knowing
- Egg whites stirred into porridge are the cheapest way to add protein without powder. Keep stirring or you get white strands rather than a thicker bowl.
- Under 300 kcal, so it is a small bowl. The almond butter is there for fat, and at 10 g it is about 60 kcal of the total.
