Ingredients
- Apple1 medium, about 160 g
- Raisins10 g
A level tablespoon. Raisins are 300 kcal per 100 g, so this is not the place for a handful.
- Greek yogurt, 0% fat100 g
- Ground cinnamonA good pinch
- WaterA splash for the dish
Method
Heat the oven to 190°C. Core the apple with a corer or a small knife, going most of the way through but leaving the base intact so the filling stays in. Score a line around the middle so the skin does not burst.
Mix the raisins with the cinnamon, push them into the cavity and stand the apple in a small dish with a splash of water in the bottom.
Bake for twenty-five minutes until the flesh gives easily to a knife. Serve warm with the yogurt spooned alongside and any juice from the dish poured over.
Worth knowing
- A Bramley collapses into fluff and is the classic. An eating apple holds its shape and is sweeter, so needs no honey. Either works.
- Scoring the equator is not fussiness. An unscored apple splits its skin in the oven and the filling spills out.
