Allergens

  • Gluten
  • Milk
  • Tree nuts
  • Most whey powders contain soya lecithin, which counts as soya. Check the tub.
  • Most granola contains nuts. This row assumes a plain oat granola; add the nut yourself if the box has them.

Flags follow UK labelling rules and come from the ingredients as listed, not from any particular brand. Check the packet before cooking for somebody with an allergy.

Ingredients

  • Peach1 medium, about 130 g

Frozen in slices the night before. A fresh peach makes a drink.

  • Banana1 medium, about 100 g

Frozen too. Peeled weight. A medium banana is about 100 g without the skin.

  • Greek yogurt, 0% fat150 g
  • Whey protein isolate1 scoop, about 30 g

Vanilla. Values for an unflavoured or lightly flavoured isolate. A concentrate or a blend carries more fat and carbohydrate at the same scoop.

  • Granola30 g
  • Blueberries50 g
  • Almonds10 g, flaked

Cooking this one?

Add it to your shopping list and keep looking. The list adds the quantities up across everything you pick.

Method

  1. Blend the yogurt and whey with a splash of water until smooth.

  2. Add the frozen peach and banana and blend in bursts until thick, scraping the sides down between each.

  3. Spoon into a bowl, top with the granola, blueberries and almonds, and eat straight away.

Worth knowing

  • A peach frozen in slices blends like sorbet. In August, freeze a few at a time while they are cheap; in February, a bag of frozen peach slices from the freezer aisle is the same fruit.
  • Granola at 4.5 kcal a gram is the topping that moves the total. Thirty grams is a small handful, and the bowl is over 500 kcal with it and about 430 without.
