  • Oats count as a gluten cereal under UK labelling and ordinary oats are milled alongside wheat. Certified gluten-free oats are a separate ingredient here.

Flags follow UK labelling rules and come from the ingredients as listed, not from any particular brand. Check the packet before cooking for somebody with an allergy.

Add it to your shopping list and keep looking. The list adds the quantities up across everything you pick.

Method

  1. Blend the oats dry for ten seconds to break them down.

  2. Add the soya milk, pea protein and cocoa and blend until there are no dry patches at the sides of the jug.

  3. Drop in the banana and peanut butter, add the ice and blend again for thirty seconds. It should be thick enough to need a spoon at the end.

Worth knowing

  • Pea protein is grittier than whey and unflavoured tastes of the field. Cocoa and peanut butter cover it completely, which is half the reason this recipe exists.
  • The oats are 113 kcal and mostly there for body. Leave them out for a lighter glass and add a second handful of ice for the thickness.
