    Stoned weight.

  • Peanut butter1 tbsp (15 g)

    The kind that is peanuts and salt. Sweetened spreads carry more carbohydrate.

  • Dark chocolate, 85%2 squares, about 10 g

Method

  1. Slit the dates, remove the stones and fill each with half the peanut butter, pressing it in with a teaspoon.

  2. Melt the two squares of chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave, ten seconds at a time, stirring between each.

  3. Dip the top of each date in the chocolate, or spoon it over, set them on baking paper with a flake of salt each, and freeze for fifteen minutes until the chocolate is hard.

Worth knowing

  • Between the dates, the peanut butter and the chocolate, this is the densest of the stuffed dates on the site. Three of them would be a meal's worth of sugar.
  • Straight from the freezer the date is chewy and the chocolate snaps. Left out for ten minutes it is softer and, some would say, better.
