Ingredients
- Cheddar30 g
- Lean ham, sliced40 g
Cooked deli weight, as sold.
- Apple60 g, about a third of a medium apple
- Gherkins30 g
- Celery1 stick, about 40 g
- Wholegrain mustard1 tsp (6 g)
Method
Cut the cheese into a few thick pieces rather than slices; this is a plate for eating with your fingers.
Fold the ham, cut the apple into wedges and the celery into batons.
Put it all on a plate with the gherkins and the mustard on the side.
Worth knowing
- A pub ploughman's runs to 80 g of cheese, a bread roll with butter and a sweet chutney. Here it is 30 g of cheddar, a slice of ham and the pickles, at 213 kcal.
- The mustard is the sauce. Chutney would add about 30 kcal a tablespoon, mostly sugar.
