Method

  1. Heat the grill to high. Cut the pitta into strips about 2 cm wide, spray them and scatter with oregano and a little salt.

  2. Grill for three to four minutes a side, until crisp and browned at the edges. Watch them; they go from brown to black in under a minute.

  3. Cut the cucumber into batons, spoon the tzatziki into a bowl and eat while the strips are warm.

Worth knowing

  • The pitta is 150 kcal of the 262, more than the dip. Strips are easier to ration than a whole warm pitta, because you can see them.
  • Shop tzatziki runs from about 80 to 140 kcal per 100 g depending on the yogurt used. The table counts 100.
