Ingredients
- Greek yogurt, 0% fat150 g
- Cherries120 g
Frozen stoned cherries, straight from the bag. Fresh ones need stoning, which is the only slow part. Stoned weight.
- Cocoa powder2 tsp (6 g)
- Whey protein isolateHalf a scoop (15 g)
Values for an unflavoured or lightly flavoured isolate. A concentrate or a blend carries more fat and carbohydrate at the same scoop.
- Semi-skimmed milk150 ml
- Almond butter2 tsp (10 g)
Method
Whisk the cocoa and whey into the milk in the blender jug first, or they clump around the frozen fruit.
Add the yogurt, almond butter and cherries and blend for forty seconds. Frozen cherries are hard on a small blender, so give it a rest halfway if it sounds unhappy.
Pour into a glass. It should be thick enough to leave a coating on the sides.
Worth knowing
- Half a scoop of whey and 150 g of 0% yogurt share the protein between them. A full scoop and no yogurt gives a similar number and a thinner drink.
- Cherries are the sweet fruit that does not need banana. Nothing else in the glass has any sugar to speak of.
