Ingredients
- Gluten-free oats45 g
Dry weight. Certified, which is the only thing that separates them from ordinary oats in the numbers.
- Kefir150 ml
- Pear1 medium, grated with the skin (170 g)
- Fresh gingerA thumb, grated
- Ground flaxseed10 g
- Ground cinnamonA pinch
Method
Grate the pear with the skin on and the ginger on the fine side of the grater.
Stir the pear, ginger, oats, flaxseed, cinnamon and kefir together in a jar.
Lid on, fridge overnight. Stir before eating.
Worth knowing
- Kefir is thinner than yogurt and sharper, so the oats stay loose and the pear does the sweetening. At 13 g of protein it is one of the lighter jars here; a scoop of whey whisked into the kefir would take it past 35 g.
- Fresh ginger is worth the thumb. Ground ginger is dusty by comparison.
