Allergens
- Milk
- Tree nuts
- Sulphites
- Bright orange dried apricots are treated with sulphur dioxide. Unsulphured ones are brown and carry no flag.
Flags follow UK labelling rules and come from the ingredients as listed, not from any particular brand. Check the packet before cooking for somebody with an allergy.
Ingredients
- Quark150 g
- Dried apricots3 apricots, about 24 g
Three is 24 g and about 50 kcal. Dried fruit is where a modest-looking pot picks up calories, so count them rather than grabbing a handful.
- Almonds10 g
- Honey1 tsp, about 7 g
- Ground cinnamonA pinch
Method
Snip the apricots into small pieces with scissors. They are easier to cut that way than with a knife.
Toast the almonds in a dry pan for two minutes, shaking, then chop them roughly.
Stir the honey and cinnamon into the quark, fold the apricots through and scatter the almonds over the top.
Worth knowing
- Made the night before, the apricots soften into the quark and the whole thing is better. Add the almonds in the morning.
- Most dried apricots are treated with sulphites, so the flag appears. Unsulphured ones are brown rather than orange and taste the same.
